Due to the inclement weather only four teams managed to play this weekend - but all four were winners! On Saturday the senior men's third team won 4-2 at second placed Rushworth & Diamonds to continue their unbeaten run. Goals from Jamie Ridley [2], Sam Allan and Simon Hill were enough to secure the points. In mini soccer there were wins from the under 10 boys by a 3-0 score-line against Consett with Paul Daglish and Shaun Quigley [2] hitting the counters for 'Ford. The under 9 boys won a five goal thriller against Blaydon Storm and the under 8's went nap with a 9-0 verdict over Beamish. The Ravens senior women’s team recorded their first North East Regional Women’s League win with an emphatic 6-1 victory at Horden Ladies, thanks to goals from Alison Glister [3], Rachel Winchester [2] and a first senior strike from 16 year old birthday girl Amy Richardson.

The senior men’s side also won well with Tony Coe [2], James MacCoy, Dan Johnson and Dominic Mossa all on target in a 5-1 win at Hartlepool Chester Hotel in the Durham FA Trophy.

Reverses were recorded by the men’s reserves [3-6 at Newcastle City] and the third team [1-2 at home to Garnett B] as they both slumped to their first Corinthians League defeat of the season.

Being 3-0 behind after the first 15 minutes didn’t help the under 16 boys who eventually lost 2-3 at Tyneside Juniors. Ryan Laidler and Richie Cunningham hit the Rutherford goals.

And despite goals from Niall Quinn and top scorer Carlos Valbuena the under 15 boys crashed to their first league defeat of the season with a 2-4 loss at home to Consett.

Patrik Gunor and Michael Daglish were on target as the under 13 boys went down 2-5 to top of the table Jarrow St Bedes and Brian Connelly’s under 12’s drew 4-4 at home to Wansbeck.

In another table topping visit the under 11 boys lost 2-7 at Cramlington Whites despite goals from Reece Boyd and Callun Milnes. In the mini soccer section the under 11 boys made progress in the Russell Foster League Cup with a 5-1 demolition of Dynamo Nissan and the under 10 boys recorded their first win of the Gateshead Youth League season when goals from Jake Hills and Shaun Quigley gave them a 2-1 win against Consett.

With the senior men's and senior women's first teams having the weekend off it was left to the second string sides to have pride of place but both sides produced disappointing displays.

The senior men's reserves went out of the Durham Minor Cup at the second round stage with a 3-1 reverse at Sunderland Foremost Electrics.  The result doesn't tell the full story though with the second string having both Ross Taylor and Paul Graham sent off.

The Ravens Development side went down heavily at Teeside outfit Marton but did see young striker Amy Kelly hit two superb goals in the Women's League.

Both junior Ravens sides at under 14 and under 12 won, with the under 14's currently top of the league.

The under 16 boys had to work hard in the Durham County Cup, but progressed through to the last 32 thanks to goals from Callum Davison, Scott Fenwick and Richie Cunningham in a 3-2 win at Sunderland Stadium FC.

The under 15 boys hammered Consett Reds 11-1 and had two hat-trick heroes in Carl Powten and Adam Mitchell as they maintained their 100% record at the top of the Gateshead Youth League.

An Andy Watson strike was enough for the under 14 boys to collect all three points at Town End Farm in the Russell Foster Youth League.

At under 13 level the Sunday boys easily beat Hebburn All-Stars 7-1 with a superb performance by Patrik Gunor who hit two goals.

The u13 boys Saturday team hat it even easier with a 10-0 victory at Monkton Juniors.  Josh McIntyre took his season's total to 24 goals with a five-goal haul.

Brian Connelly's under 12 boys went down 2-0 but the under 11's drew 2-2 thanks to a Reece Boyd double.

Paul Daglish's goal was not enough as the under 10 boys went down 2-1 but there was even further disappointment for the under 9's who lost 3-0 to Cleveland Hall.

Tatenda Musakanya hit a second half hat-trick as the under 8's went nap to beat Beamish 8-0 but Ian Innes' under 7's lost their second game of the season with a 2-1 defeat to Low Fell.
